Sept. 26, 1916 Coke ovens - In a coke oven with vertical heating-flues in communication at their upper ends with an horizontal passage, the draught through the heating-flues is controlled by blocks pivotally mounted so that they can be swung aside to obtain access to the flues. In the construction shown, each draught-regulating device consists of a pair of blocks E notched to provide an opening E<2> and formed with pivot projections E<1>. The blocks are seated in recesses C<1> in the upper ends of the flues.
